  1. DO 335 BOMBER ATTACK TRAINING
  2.  
  3. Since the Do 335 "Pfeil" was originally 
  4. conceived as a fast bomber, its size and 
  5. weight made it best suited to attacks 
  6. against larger prey, namely Allied 
  7. bombers.  The Pfeil's greatest asset was 
  8. its speed, which would have enabled it 
  9. to make hit and run attacks where the 
  10. Mustangs and Thunderbolts could not 
  11. catch it.  As for dogfighting, the Do 335 
  12. was certainly powerful and fairly well 
  13. armed, but it probably would not have 
  14. been a match for the more agile P-51.

  16.                     YOUR MISSION
  17.  
  18. Follow your flight leader in an attack on a 
  19. formation of incoming B-17s.  As you 
  20. make your attack, maintain a high rate of 
  21. speed to avoid being caught by the P-51 
  22. escort fighters.  Stop the bombers before 
  23. they reach their target at Hanover.  Stay 
  24. with your leader as much as possible and 
  25. protect him from attacks by the Mustangs.
